Albion Kicks travel south to the Emirates
Albion Kicks is an inclusion project offering free football 48 weeks a year, aimed at teenagers between the ages of 12-18. The project runs across the Sandwell area, covering sites identified by the police as high youth crime and anti-social behavior.
The day started with a guided tour round the Emirates stadium where the group got to see the directors box, the changing rooms and the pitch the lads were very excited to see the away changing rooms where the likes of Messi and Ronaldo had sat.
Once the tour had finished we headed to the very impressive Arsenal Hub where our kicks team got the chance to take on the Arsenal kicks team. During the 6 a side tournament everyone got a chance to play each other with some very close games, with the eventual winners being Arsenal.
After building a good relationship with The Arsenal staff we will look forward to them visiting us over the Christmas period for a visit to the Hawthorns and return fixture.
Kicks coach Dan Crane said “ The Emirates is a fantastic stadium, to give our participant’s that opportunity is great.”
Kicks participant Connor said “I had a great day it was great to sit where Messi and Ronaldo had sat”
