Family Support Coordinator – Education and Engagement

(Full time – 12 month fixed term contract in the first instance)

£20,000 – £25,000

The Albion Foundation (registered Charity 1081948) is an established and successful provider of sport, education and disability programmes that works in partnership with West Bromwich Albion FC.

The role:

Reporting to the Education Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Delivering a ‘wrap around’ package of pastoral support to vulnerable young people and their families to enable them to be successful with their current education and future.
  • Providing support and intervention services for vulnerable families to maintain a stable family environment and build parenting skills.
  • Working one to one with pupils
  • Supporting pupils during lessons either at The Albion Foundation alternative provision or on school sites
  • Contributing to mid-year and year end Premier League monitoring reports or internal evaluations
  • Performing administration duties to support programmes.  For example updating VIEWS,  organising additional activities that add value, preparing resources, keeping records
  • Positively and proactively promoting  The Albion Foundation using a variety of media outlets
  • Liaising with parents/carers,  schools and teachers and other relevant agencies
  • Any other duties deemed appropriate by your line manager
  • Supporting The Albion Foundation, families and young people with safeguarding concerns

You will have:

  • Sound knowledge of housing, family, health, and welfare benefit issues that affect vulnerable people
  • Ability to engage and advocate on behalf of young people where necessary
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Understanding safeguarding procedures with regards to young people, children and vulnerable adults and an understanding of relevant legislation relating to children
  • A non – judgemental approach within work
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a small team delivering a diverse range of pastoral support to young people
  • Able to develop support plans, update case files and evaluate your own work
  • Build and sustain positive working relationships both internally and externally with key partners
  • A flexible approach to employment and will understand the need to work unsociable hours including evenings and weekends
  • Will possess and demonstrate all eleven Core Values agreed by The Albion Foundation
  • Will strive to ‘Inspire to Achieve’

Positive Well-Being Worker (x 2) – Education and Engagement

(Full time – 12 month fixed term contract in the first instance)

£16,000 – £19,000

The Albion Foundation (registered Charity 1081948) is an established and successful provider of sport, education and disability programmes that works in partnership with West Bromwich Albion FC.

We have recently secured funding to enable us to work in partnership with The Kaleidoscope Group to design and deliver a ‘Positive Well-Being’ schools programme and to support campaigns that raise awareness of mental health and well-being.

The role:

Reporting to the Deputy Director (The Albion Foundation) and / or Director of Operations (Kaleidoscope)  the successful candidates will be responsible for:

  • Designing , developing, delivering and evaluating ‘Positive Well-Being’ programmes for young people in Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 4
  • Working across the primary and secondary sector in the Black Country
  • Signposting young people to other services as and when appropriate and liaising with a range of agencies and stakeholders
  • Publicising and promoting the programme to head teachers and senior leaders
  • Being instrumental in forging an operational partnership between The Albion Foundation and Kaleidoscope
  • Organising activities to raise awareness of Positive Mental Health and Well-Being that support local and national campaigns
  • Fully utilising the brand name ‘West Bromwich Albion Football Club’ to normalise and encourage discussion around mental health concerns
  • Contributing to mid-year and year end Premier League monitoring reports or internal evaluations
  • Performing administration duties to support programmes.  For example data capture,  organising additional activities that add value, preparing resources, keeping records
  • Any other duties deemed appropriate by your line manager

You will:

  • Possess a good level of education including evidence of post-16 study
  • Have experience of working with young people in a variety of settings
  • Have a good understanding of the concepts of ‘well-being’ and ‘positive mental health’
  • Have an excellent knowledge of safeguarding practices and procedures
  • Possess excellent communication skills
  • Be creative and dynamic, enthusiastic and willing to go ‘above and beyond’
  • Be flexible and highly organised
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Understand the importance of partnership working
  • Possess and demonstrate all eleven Core Values agreed by The Albion Foundation
  • Strive to ‘Inspire to Achieve’
