Double Club is a school based programme where numeracy or literacy and sport are used to encourage students to become more motivated and confident about learning.
The programme targets pupils at Key Stage 2/3 and has proven to raise the standards of their work and attainment in school.
The pupils attend a 10 week course where the focus is determined by the school. They take part in a 45 minute classroom session and a 45 minute sports session to engage the pupils in their learning. The sessions are all related to the National Curriculum.
What difference has it made so far?
- One pupil has moved up a numeracy set since the sessions have begun.
- Most pupils who are currently on the course have moved up at least one sub level in numeracy
“Thank you so much for your support with my daughter she has really enjoyed coming to Double Club”

Pupil
“One pupil has been moved up a set and it was mentioned that as you are delivering on site they can actually see how engaged the girls are – though they are talking about it in and around school too”
